SW Futures Fend Off QC Rattlers in 9-7 Victory
The SW Futures 13U squad came out swinging and held off a late charge from the QC Rattlers to secure a thrilling 9-7 win in a back-and-forth battle.
The Futures wasted no time getting on the board, putting up three runs in the first inning to set the tone. They added three more in the third and seemed to be in control after extending their lead to 8-2 by the fifth inning. But the Rattlers weren’t going down without a fight. A huge five-run rally in the bottom of the fourth brought them right back into the game, cutting the Futures’ lead to just two.
With the pressure on, SW Futures locked in and found a way to close it out. Their pitching and defense held strong over the final two innings, keeping the Rattlers off the board to seal the win.
Both teams matched each other in hits with eight apiece, but the Futures capitalized on their chances, staying aggressive on the bases and taking advantage of key opportunities. The Rattlers played a clean game with just one error, but SW Futures' offense proved too much to overcome.
