Regular Season Game 10.18.25

Bears claw over Champs
The Chandler Bears and AZ Champs — two of the top-ranked 13U teams in the nation — went head-to-head in a high-profile battle that lived up to the hype. The Champs entered ranked #4 nationally, while the Bears came in at #10, and the intensity never dipped from kickoff to the final snap.
The Bears made an early statement when #93 broke through for a sack, setting the tone with hard-nosed defense. Moments later, #4 found daylight on a 30-yard run to the end zone, and #14 drilled the kick to put the Bears on the board. The Champs quickly responded as #1 took the ensuing kickoff 60 yards for a touchdown, with #6 converting the kick to even things up. The Bears answered right back — QB #2 dropped a strike to #3 in the end zone, and #14 stayed perfect on the kick to keep momentum in Chandler’s favor.
In the second quarter, #11 bulldozed through four defenders for a 15-yard gain, showing off his strength and balance. But the Champs swung momentum back when #19 picked off a pass and returned it 60 yards to the house, with #6 adding the extra points. Emotions boiled over when Bears #4 intercepted a pass shortly after — the play turned chippy, flags flew, and Champs #9 was ejected for comments to the referee after offsetting penalties were assessed.
The third quarter saw more intensity than ever. Champs #14 recovered a fumble, but the sideline noise drew a flag against the Champs’ coaches, leading to an ejection. Tempers flared on the field, resulting in pushing, shoving, and a wave of flags and hats thrown by officials. Both teams received offsetting technical fouls, and Bears #80 was ejected as play resumed. Champs #14 came up with another fumble recovery to keep the game alive.
In the fourth, the Bears found their groove again. QB #2 hit #11 on a 40-yard pass that set up #4 for his second touchdown of the night. #14 stayed automatic with another perfect kick, and later sealed the win with a clutch interception. The Bears closed it out in victory formation, taking home a hard-earned win in one of the most emotional and physical battles of the season.
Editor’s Note: Per official confirmation from the AZYFL League, the ejection of Champs #9 was overturned following a post-game film review.
