Clash of Powerhouses
The 13U AZ Champs and 14U FSP, two top-tier programs, went head-to-head in a physical and fast-paced showdown that kept the energy high from start to finish. FSP, traveling all the way from Washington State, came ready to prove themselves on Arizona turf — but the Champs matched their intensity blow for blow.
The game opened with a burst of momentum as AZ Champs fumbled on their opening drive and FSP #9 jumped on it. Moments later, #44 intercepted a Champs pass to give FSP great field position. #5 capitalized with the game’s opening touchdown, though a bad snap disrupted the extra point and the 2-point try by #1 fell short.
The second quarter showcased why both teams are considered among the best. FSP’s #23 broke open a huge 40-yard reception, putting the Champs’ defense on its heels. But the Champs answered with strong defensive stands, keeping the visitors from running away with the lead.
Coming out of halftime, the Champs found life. #9 came up big with an interception to flip the momentum. FSP responded with their own fireworks as QB #12 connected with #1 for a 30-yard strike, reminding everyone why they’re an elite program.
In the fourth quarter, #5 once again delivered for FSP, hauling in a 30-yard touchdown to stretch the gap. The Champs’ #9 intercepted the 2-point attempt, but the play was blown dead as per extra point rules.
It was a hard-hitting, momentum-swinging battle between two powerhouse programs. FSP’s ability to turn turnovers into points was the deciding factor, but both squads showcased grit, speed, and next-level talent all game long.
