Wardogs Power Past Jr Eagles
The O’Connor Jr Eagles and Wardogs went head-to-head in a high-energy 14U youth football clash that delivered fireworks from the opening whistle.
The Wardogs came out swinging early. #11 hauled in a 6-yard reception for the first score of the night, and #5 drilled the kick for 2 points. Moments later, #0 burned downfield on a 65-yard reception to make it two quick strikes for the Dogs — another clean kick from #5 put them firmly in control.
The Eagles found a spark in the second quarter when #12 jumped the route and came down with a big interception. But the Wardogs stayed relentless, with #5 punching in a touchdown and knocking through the extra kick to extend the lead heading into halftime.
In the third, the Wardogs tried to stretch it out with a field goal attempt, but it came up way short — and O’Connor made them pay. #17 took a handoff and exploded through two defenders on a 55-yard house call, swinging momentum to the Eagles’ sideline.
The fourth quarter turned into pure chaos. The Eagles recovered a wild fumble after the Dogs’ quarterback tried to get rid of the ball under pressure, setting the Eagles up deep. But the Wardogs struck again — #0 found paydirt and #5 kept his perfect night going on the kick. The Eagles answered right back with a massive 55-yard run from #4, who capped it with a touchdown, though the kick was blocked.
The Dogs weren’t done yet. #13 ripped off a 65-yard run to put the final stamp on a high-octane battle, sealing the win for the Wardogs.
