Cobras Edge Eagles in wild finish
OTB Cobras edged out the JR Eagles in a game that ended in confusion, with the final score standing at 14-12 in favor of the Cobras. The game featured intense plays, big turnovers, and a lot of back-and-forth, but the ending left fans unsure of what really happened.
The JR Eagles came out strong in the first quarter. #17 put the team on the board with a touchdown, and #15 followed it up with a successful extra point kick to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead. Their defense also stepped up, with #43 recording two sacks in the opening period.
In the second quarter, the OTB Cobras responded with a touchdown from #87, and #20 nailed the extra point to tie the game at 7-7. The Eagles weren't backing down though, as #17 broke loose for a 70-yard touchdown run, but the extra point attempt from #15 was no good, leaving the Eagles with a 13-7 lead. However, the Cobras quickly answered back with a touchdown from #3, though they missed the extra point, making the score 13-13 at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Cobras had an opportunity to take the lead with a field goal from #20, but it missed wide. The Eagles caught a break when #71 recovered a fumble, although the play was a bit chaotic. Still, it kept the Eagles' hopes alive.
The fourth quarter saw the Cobras grab an interception from #0, but it wasn’t enough to seal the win just yet. When the game ended, the scoreboard read 14-14, but the referee later clarified that the JR Eagles had missed both of their extra point attempts after touchdowns. This meant that the Eagles actually lost the game 12-14.
