Walk-Off Heartbreaker: Canes West Falls to Biscuits Elite, 5–4

In a back-and-forth thriller, Canes West National 2027 16U gave it everything they had but came up just short in the final inning. Biscuits Elite 2027 walked it off in the bottom of the seventh, stealing a 5–4 win in what was one of the tightest games of the weekend.

Canes Fight Early

After giving up a run in the first, Canes West bounced back in the top of the second. Evan Rodriguez singled to get things going, and Owen Gaida took a hit-by-pitch to move him over. Cody Carmichael came through with a two-RBI single to left to make it 2–1, Canes on top.

Rodriguez (Canes West) kept putting pressure on the defense all game — he went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI.

Biscuits Respond and Pull Ahead

Biscuits Elite tied it up in the bottom of the second, then took the lead in the third after a pair of runs came in on clutch singles and an error. Canes West starter Conor Rae battled for 3 innings, striking out 5, but Biscuits found small ways to sneak ahead.

Connor Long came in for Rae and held it down, pitching 3.1 innings with 4 strikeouts and no earned runs.

Canes Rally Late

In the fifth, Colton Floyd lit a fire with a massive inside-the-park home run to tie the game at 3–3. Floyd (Canes West) wasn’t done — he finished 3-for-4 with a pair of singles, a homer, and a team-high 2 RBIs.

Shortly after, Brandon Alley ripped his second double of the game, and Rodriguez delivered again with an RBI double to give Canes the lead, 4–3.

Alley (Canes West) also had a strong game at the plate, going 2-for-3 with 2 doubles and a run scored.

Walk-Off Sting

Canes looked ready to close it out. But in the bottom of the seventh, Biscuits Elite’s #44 reached on an error and came around to score the tying run. Then #22 came up with the clutch hit — a walk-off single to left that brought home the winning run.

It was a tough loss for a Canes squad that outhit Biscuits 9–6 and had strong outings from both pitchers.
