Marucci Drops 13 on Wow Factor in High-Scoring Win

May 24, 2025 | 15U Baseball

Marucci Athletics Sting 2028 came out swinging and never let up, scoring in every inning and piling on 13 total runs to defeat Wow Factor NV 2027, 13–6.

Hot Start for Marucci

Reid Holtorf set the tone right away with a leadoff double, and just one batter later, Jaxon Clubb brought the fireworks — launching an inside-the-park home run that made it 2–0. Marucci wasn’t done. Mickey Raftery added a double of his own, and Noah Stewart drove in two more with another shot to the outfield. After just one inning, it was 4–0.

Wow Factor Answers Back

In the second, Wow Factor got on the board. Preston Page and Matthew Simmler each singled, and Wyatt Mintun smashed a 2-run double to close the gap to 4–2. But Marucci responded fast.

Back-to-back walks in the bottom half set the table, and Holtorf came through again with a 2-run double. Conner Hansen followed with a single to score another, and the lead stretched to 7–2.

Middle-Inning Fight

Wow Factor kept it close in the third with big hits from Gabriel Romero-Agasto and Braden Breen, plus some smart base running by Travis Williams and AJ Mallas. Romero-Agasto’s 2-RBI double made it 7–4, then Williams added another RBI single in the fourth to make it a one-run game.

But Marucci had the answer again.

Holtorf, Clubb, and Hansen were back at it in the fourth. A wild pitch scored one, and three consecutive hit batters gave Marucci more baserunners than they knew what to do with. Wes Wolfley and Keone Ede were both hit to bring in runs, and Stewart and Jack Masi followed with a fielder’s choice and RBI single. By the end of the inning, Marucci had blown it open at 13–6.

Pitching Locks It In

Nick Pacimeo came in and shut the door. After taking over in the fourth, he struck out five, allowed just two hits, and gave Wow Factor no chance to claw back. Mickey Raftery also recorded four strikeouts in three strong innings to start the game.

Holtorf finished the day 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs, while Clubb added two hits, two RBIs, and a stolen base. The team combined for 10 hits, 13 runs, and 7 RBIs, taking full advantage of extra opportunities and mistakes.

Wow Factor fought hard with six runs and some timely hitting, but Marucci’s steady offense and pitching were just too much.
