Canes Come Out Swinging in Run-Rule Win Over ITZ Vipers

It was all business for the Canes GP National 2026 Wimmer squad on Thursday morning as they exploded out of the gates and never looked back, securing a 13-0 run-rule victory over ITZ Vipers Elite in 17U PG World Series play.

The Canes set the tone early with a 2-run first inning fueled by aggressive baserunning and clutch hits. They blew the game wide open in the second with a 6-run rally that included a bases-clearing double and a hit-by-pitch that turned into another scoring opportunity. Their bats stayed hot in the third, adding five more runs and forcing Vipers pitchers to scramble for answers.

B. Rojas led the charge offensively, racking up multiple extra-base hits and driving in key runs. A. Fowler and R. Littlefield also came through with big swings, combining for multiple RBIs and timely contact that kept the pressure on.

On the mound, M. West was locked in from the first pitch. The right-hander was dominant through three innings, mixing up speeds and painting corners to rack up strikeouts and weak contact. He retired the side in the first and third innings and allowed just two hits through his outing.

The Vipers, despite showing flashes at the plate late in the game—including singles by C. Shea and M. Flores—couldn't string together enough offense to shift momentum. The Canes’ defense was sharp and error-free, backing up their pitchers with clean glove work.

This dominant win keeps Canes GP National in strong position heading deeper into bracket play, while the Vipers will look to regroup and bounce back in their next matchup.

Final Score:
