Elite Stars Outrun Jr Vipers in Hard-Hitting 8U Matchup
The Jr Vipers came ready to battle, but the Elite Stars brought the pressure and the big plays in this fast-paced 8U football showdown.
The first quarter was a defensive grind, but things broke open in the second when Elite Stars #12 exploded for a 45-yard touchdown run, turning on the jets and leaving defenders behind. The extra point try came up short after #55dropped the ball just before crossing the goal line.
Not long after, #12 struck again — this time taking it 35 yards to the house. The Stars tried a pass for the conversion, but #13’s throw to #33 was swatted down by the Vipers' defense.
The Vipers were looking to respond, but their drive was cut short when Elite Stars #10 grabbed an interception, flipping the momentum back to the Stars.
In the third quarter, the Jr Vipers punched back. #5 powered in a touchdown, and they lined up for the 2-point kick, but #4’s attempt sailed just wide. That lit a spark, but Elite answered right away with another breakaway touchdown by #12, this time from 55 yards out. #55 finished it off with a clean 2-point run, extending the lead.
The Vipers had a nice highlight late in the third when #4 hit #12 for a solid 25-yard gain, but the Stars defense closed in fast to prevent the score.
In the final quarter, the Elite Stars' defense clamped down. #33 came up with a big sack, and #12 closed out the game with his second interception of the day.
