Southwest Stampede Power Past Wildcats

In a hard-hitting 8U showdown at the Dance in the Desert Tournament, the Southwest Stampede came out running wild, picking up a confident 19–6 win over a tough Wildcats squad.

The Stampede struck early in the first quarter as #24 found the end zone, putting SW on the board with a quick six. The extra point came up short, but the tone was already set.

Quarter two brought the crowd to its feet — #7 broke through not one, not two, but three tackles on his way to a 50-yard touchdown run, showing off the Stampede’s toughness and speed. #8 followed it up with a strong run for the extra point, making it 13–0 at halftime.

The third quarter was all about defense. The Stampede defense punched the ball out and recovered a key fumble, only for the Wildcats to answer right back with a fumble recovery of their own — both teams scrapping for every inch.

But the Stampede weren’t done. In the fourth, #24 found the end zone once more, adding to his big day and stretching the lead to 19–0 after the missed extra point. The Wildcats showed fight to the finish, breaking through for a touchdown of their own late in the game, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap.
