Jr Hawks Soar in Shutout Win Over Sharks
The 9U Jr Hawks wasted no time making a statement to open their preseason, flying past the El Paso Sharks with an 18–0 shutout at the Dance in the Desert Tournament.
The tone was set early in the first quarter when #3 found a seam and took it 35 yards to the end zone. The extra point was no good, but the Hawks were on the board and in control.
The second quarter brought more fireworks as #4 broke free for a jaw-dropping 70-yard touchdown run, putting the Hawks up 12–0 going into halftime. Their offense was rolling, but the defense was just as locked in.
In the third, #18 came up big with a sack, and shortly after, #3 punched in his second touchdown of the day. Another missed extra point kept the score at 18–0, but the damage was done.
The fourth quarter saw both teams battle for the ball. #1 from the Hawks recovered a fumble, keeping the shutout intact, while #5 from the Sharks snagged a fumble recovery of his own, showing fight all the way to the final whistle.
