Verrado’s defense set the tone early, coming away with two first-quarter interceptions from #26 and #3 to slow down Phoenix before the game could find a rhythm.

The Vipers broke through in the second quarter when #13 found the end zone, followed by a successful extra point run from #17. Phoenix answered in a flash when #5 took the kickoff back 55 yards for a touchdown, then added the extra point run to tie the game.

Verrado responded before halftime when #7 came away with an interception after a completed pass came loose, then #99 scored and #17 added another extra point run to give the Vipers a 14-7 lead. Phoenix kept fighting with a third-quarter interception from #6, but Verrado protected the lead and closed the game in victory formation.

The 13U D1 Championship opened as a defensive chess match, with both teams trading stops and turnovers before the Scottsdale Outlaws took control in the second half for a 22-7 victory over Talent Driven. The Outlaws struck first defensively when #20 came away with an interception, but Talent Driven answered in the second quarter with an interception from #4 to keep the game scoreless at halftime.

The second half belonged to Scottsdale. The Outlaws broke through when #3 scored the game’s first touchdown, then #21 recovered a fumble to keep momentum on their side. Moments later, #00 delivered one of the biggest plays of the day, breaking through four tackles on a 75-yard touchdown run.

Talent Driven answered in the fourth quarter when #4 caught a deep throw and turned it into a touchdown, with #8 adding the extra point throw. Scottsdale responded with a touchdown from #20, another extra point kick from #10, and a late fumble recovery from #32 to seal the championship.

The 13U D2 Championship delivered one of the most exciting games of the day, with the Verrado Jr Vipers and Gilbert Lightning trading big plays, momentum swings, and late-game drama before Verrado came away with a 35-28 victory.

Gilbert Lightning made its presence felt early with defensive pressure from #13 and #22, then #44 scored to put the Lightning ahead. Verrado answered in the second quarter behind #4, while Gilbert struck again when #18 connected with #44 on a 25-yard pass that helped set up another score.

Verrado tied it before halftime when #21 turned a 25-yard catch into a touchdown, and the second half stayed wild. Gilbert scored through #11, Verrado answered through #4, and then #21 broke loose for a 35-yard touchdown in the fourth. Late fumble recoveries from #2 and #4 helped Verrado create separation, and even after Gilbert’s #1 ripped off a 60-yard touchdown, the Vipers held on.

District 602 Athletics put together a complete championship performance in the 8U D1 title game, using speed, defense, and explosive scoring plays to defeat the Verrado Jr Vipers, 35-0.

District 602 wasted no time setting the tone. #1 broke loose for a 55-yard touchdown, the defense followed with an interception from #23, and #29 ripped off an 88-yard touchdown run to create early separation. In the second quarter, #3 added a 40-yard touchdown, and District 602 took a 19-0 lead into halftime.

The second half brought more control from 602. #29 scored again on a 79-yard touchdown, #58 added the extra point, and #11 later found the end zone. Verrado came up with a defensive highlight from #88 with an interception, but District 602 closed the game with another interception from #29 and a 55-yard touchdown from #34.
