Chandler Pulls Away From Basha in 60-8 Freshman Victory

Chandler took control early against Basha on August 26, building a sizable first-half advantage before finishing with a 60-8 victory in freshman football action.

The Chandler offense began the scoring in the opening quarter when running back No. 3 reached the end zone for a touchdown.

Chandler quickly added to its lead after a Basha fumble resulted in another touchdown, pushing the score to 14-0.

The offense continued producing before the opening quarter ended. Quarterback No. 5 scrambled for a touchdown, and No. 3 followed by running in the two-point conversion. The sequence extended Chandler's advantage to 22-0 after the first quarter.

Chandler carried that momentum into the second quarter. The running game produced another touchdown to extend the lead to 30-0. Chandler then went through the air, completing a touchdown pass to No. 4. The ensuing two-point conversion was unsuccessful, but Chandler entered halftime holding a 36-0 advantage.

The scoring continued in the third quarter when No. 1 broke through for a rushing touchdown. Chandler added the conversion and carried a 44-0 lead into the fourth quarter.

Basha continued battling and broke through offensively in the final period. No. 20 scored on a rushing touchdown as the Bears put their first points of the game on the board. Basha finished the night with eight points.

Chandler's defense provided one of the final major highlights of the game. No. 31 intercepted a Basha pass and returned it for a pick-six, turning the defensive takeaway directly into points. Chandler followed the interception return with a successful two-point conversion.

The Wolves ultimately closed out the night with a 60-8 victory.
