Maricopa Takes Team Win Over Dobson

Maricopa opened its boys varsity golf season with a strong performance against Dobson on August 11 at Duke at Rancho El Dorado in Maricopa.

The Rams finished the match with a team score of 197, led by sophomore River May, who posted the lowest individual score of the day. May shot a 43 (+7) to finish first overall and set the pace for Maricopa.

Dobson answered with two of the next three best individual rounds. Senior Trevor Rohner finished one stroke behind May with a 44 (+8) to take second place, while senior Parker Herndon recorded a 45 (+9) for third.

Maricopa’s depth helped secure the team result. Sophomore Aaron McKey and senior Leo Henslin each shot a 50 (+14), tying for fourth place. Senior Logan Meyer completed Maricopa’s scoring with a 54 (+18).

May’s first-place finish combined with consistent scoring throughout the Rams’ lineup gave Maricopa a 197 team total and the victory over Dobson.
