Following the game, Buckeye Union junior quarterback and running back Mekhi Sharper discussed the team's preparation and confidence entering the matchup.

"We came into the game strong. We knew we would have to score every drive on offense, fly to the ball on defense," Sharper said. "Youngker's not a bad team, but we knew we would have to do what we need to do to win the game."

Sharper also described the atmosphere surrounding the rivalry and the team's determination to deliver a victory.

"I feel like we were all confident. It's a very hype game. The city's watching, and we just made sure we had to come out with the dub."

When asked which teammates deserved recognition for the victory, Sharper highlighted his receiving group and running back.

"I'm going to go to my whole receiving corps. Keone Ellis, Max Velegas, Tyvan Guy, Adam Swain, and my running back, Zion Yancy," Sharper said.
