Butler Shoots the Lights Out in Arizona Tip-Off Win over Mississippi State

Butler came ready to ball in Tempe, knocking down shots at a blistering 53% clip and drilling 12 threes on their way to an 87–77 victory over Mississippi State at Mullett Arena.
Jahmyl Telfort was electric, leading all scorers with 24 points, including 4 triples and a perfect 4-for-4 from the line. Pierre Brooks brought the muscle with 22 points and 9 rebounds, while Landon Moore added 13 off the bench, hitting clutch free throws and a dagger three late.
Butler's depth showed—31 points came from the bench, and they out-rebounded the Bulldogs 44–33. Patrick McCaffery and Andre Screen both contributed physical play and timely defense, with Screen grabbing 9 boards of his own.
For Mississippi State, Josh Hubbard and Riley Kugel each poured in 22, with Kugel connecting on four shots from deep. Cameron Matthews added 14 points and 6 boards, doing his best to keep the Bulldogs in it.
