Skyhawks Surge Past Agua Fria

Runs came in waves, and Deer Valley made sure there was no slowing them down. The Skyhawks delivered a dominant 22–6 varsity softball win over Agua Fria, putting together an explosive offensive showcase that took control early and never let up.

From the first inning, Deer Valley set the tone with six runs, immediately applying pressure and forcing Agua Fria into a tough position. That momentum only grew in the second, where the Skyhawks erupted for 13 runs in a relentless stretch at the plate.

Hit after hit, disciplined at-bats, and constant pressure turned the inning into the decisive breaking point. By the time Deer Valley added three more runs in the third, the Skyhawks had full control of the game.

Offensively, Deer Valley was firing on all cylinders, finishing with 18 hits and 22 runs. E. Robles led the charge with a perfect 4-for-4 performance, driving in six runs and delivering three doubles. K. Nielsen added another standout showing, going 3-for-4 with four runs scored and a triple, while S. Romero went 3-for-3 with three RBIs.

A. Seely added power with two doubles and two RBIs, and G. Hughes made her presence felt with a home run as part of a balanced attack throughout the lineup. Deer Valley kept traffic on the bases all game and continued turning pressure into production.

Agua Fria found ways to generate runs despite not recording a hit, taking advantage of walks, hit-by-pitches, and situational opportunities to put six runs on the board. H. Holley and J. Diarte each crossed the plate twice, while A. Gonzalez, A. Vasquez, P. Pulido, and A. Garcia helped manufacture runs with key RBIs.

In the circle, Deer Valley’s pitching staff combined for a no-hit performance. G. Hughes set the tone early, striking out six across three innings while working around traffic, and K. Nielsen followed with a strong closing inning to secure the finish.
