Sahuarita Takes Four-Set Victory Over Desert Sunrise

Sahuarita earned a 3-1 victory over Desert Sunrise in girls varsity volleyball action on August 27 at Desert Sunrise High School.

The match opened with its closest set of the night. Desert Sunrise battled Sahuarita throughout the opening frame, but Sahuarita was able to edge the Golden Hawks 25-23 and take an early 1-0 advantage.

Sahuarita carried that momentum into the second set. Desert Sunrise remained within striking distance, but Sahuarita secured a 25-21 victory to move one set away from closing out the match.

Facing a potential sweep, Desert Sunrise responded in the third set. The Golden Hawks turned the tables with a 25-21 win of their own, cutting Sahuarita's match advantage to 2-1 and forcing a fourth set.

Sahuarita answered in the fourth. With Desert Sunrise looking to extend the match to a deciding fifth set, Sahuarita regained control and finished the frame with another 25-21 victory.

The fourth-set win sealed the 3-1 match victory for Sahuarita. Sahuarita claimed three of the four sets, while Desert Sunrise's third-set response prevented the sweep and kept the match alive into the fourth.
