Dragon Elite Academy Shows Resilience and Toughness in Two-Game Test
Dragon Elite Academy put together two strong performances against Anytime Jaguars and DSE, leaning on physical defense, interior line play and a rushing attack that helped the 13U program come away with victories of 18-0 and 28-12.
In the first game, DEA's offense controlled the line of scrimmage and kept possession for the entire first quarter. On the other side of the ball, the defense shut down the Jaguars, holding them to just six first downs on the way to an 18-0 victory.
Game two brought a different challenge. DEA got off to a sloppy start against DSE, allowing a touchdown and turning the ball over twice. Late in the first half, however, the defense began changing the direction of the game. DEA forced two turnovers, including one returned for a touchdown.
In the second half, the offense and its big backs began wearing down DSE as DEA pulled away for the 28-12 win. The response after the difficult opening showed the team's ability to regroup, stay physical and take control of the game.
What Stood Out
Resilience and defensive toughness stood out for Dragon Elite Academy across the two games. Even after the difficult start against DSE, the team responded rather than allowing the early mistakes to dictate the rest of the game.
What the Team Did Well
DEA's ability to make running the football difficult was another strength. The team's physical play, hard hitting and performance along the interior helped set the tone defensively.
Building for What's Next
Moving forward, Dragon Elite Academy is focused on improving its ball security and conditioning. Those areas give the team clear points of emphasis as it continues developing.

Howard delivered one of DEA's biggest offensive plays. After making a defender miss in the backfield, he reversed the field and broke free for a 78-yard touchdown run that helped put the game away.

Tristian Huth | LB / RB
Game Stats: 38 rushing yards, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 defensive TD and 8 tackles
Huth contributed on both sides of the football, adding 38 rushing yards offensively while making an impact on defense with eight tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and a defensive touchdown. His performance was defined by speed, physical play and sure tackling.

Dragon Elite Academy's two-game performance reflected that message. The team combined physical defense and strong interior play with the resilience needed to respond when the second game did not begin as planned.
With ball security and conditioning identified as areas to improve, DEA leaves the road trip with two victories and a clear understanding of where the team wants to get better next.
