Freddy Gutierrez Makes His Impact Everywhere for Relentless

Freddy Gutierrez doesn't need just one position to make his presence felt. The Relentless 11U Rated R Boyz athlete wears No. 19 and contributes as a wide receiver, defensive back and kicker. Against the Legendary OG Ducks on September 6, Gutierrez showed that versatility once again, finishing 2-for-2 on PAT attempts while adding an interception on defense.

For Gutierrez, his performance reflects the work he continues to put in both at practice and away from the field. He describes himself as hardworking and competitive, with a constant desire to improve. Whether it's his speed, route running, catching, kicking or football IQ, he is focused on finding another part of his game to sharpen.

That combination of humility and competitiveness is part of what makes Gutierrez tick. Despite his quiet personality, he says people may not realize just how competitive he is. Even when nobody is watching, football is still on his mind, along with finding another way to get better.

Being part of a team and having teammates count on him are important pieces of why he loves playing the game.

Eyes on the Next Goal

Gutierrez's next major target is the YNC National Championship, but his focus remains rooted in daily improvement. He wants to continue getting better, remain coachable and become someone his teammates know they can depend on.

One thing people may not realize about Gutierrez is just how competitive he is because of his quiet personality. Even when nobody is watching, he remains focused on football and finding ways to improve his game.

Freddy is a tremendous all-around athlete who is willing to do whatever his team needs. Whether it's playing slot receiver, corner, safety, long snapper, or even kicking field goals, he never complains or questions his role. He simply steps up and gets the job done.

He comes to every practice with a great attitude, works his butt off, and is always there for his teammates. And if the football is anywhere near him, you can count on Freddy to catch it, he catches everything thrown his way!

Freddy is a great athlete, an outstanding teammate, and an even better kid. It has been an absolute privilege to coach him, and I truly believe his brightest days are still ahead. Any team would be fortunate to have a young man like Freddy.”
