9-9 Showdown
On April 17th, the Verrado Vipers and the Canyon View Jaguars played one WILD baseball game at Verrado. Both teams were hitting the ball like crazy and when it was all over... NOBODY WON! That’s right — it ended in a 9-9 tie!
The Vipers started the game like fireworks on the 4th of July. They scored 5 runs in the first inning! Alfredo Ibarra was unstoppable, going 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 runs. Kingston Carino and Chase Valdez also had 2 hits each, and everyone in the lineup helped bring the heat.
But the Jaguars didn’t give up. In the fifth inning, they exploded with 6 runs to catch all the way up! J. Rodriguez and A. Vallejos were monsters at the plate, each getting 2 hits, and Rodriguez even smacked a triple!
Both teams had 13 combined errors and 22 hits, so there was a lot of running, cheering, and maybe even a few oopsies.
Pitchers tried their best too. Verrado’s Chase Valdez struck out 6 batters, and Canyon View’s Mason Cantu pitched strong early with 4 strikeouts and gave up 0 runs.
Even though nobody won, it was super exciting, and both teams played their hearts out. It was like a rollercoaster!
