Verrado Runs Wild

Verrado’s freshman baseball team dominated Desert Edge 14–1 on April 14, 2025, in a performance that showcased their all-around talent. The Vipers came out hot, scoring in the first inning and never looked back, adding two in the second and five in the third before ending the game early with a massive 14-run lead. Chase Valdez led the charge with a perfect 1-for-1 showing, including a triple, while Hunter Chambers added a double and a run scored. Alex Galaviz finished with two hits, two runs, and an RBI, and the offense remained relentless with contributions from M. Poffenbarger, Alfredo Ibarra, and M. Triplett. The Vipers’ aggressive base running added to the pressure, swiping 10 bags throughout the game, with Cort Galbraith leading the way with three steals. On the mound, Alfredo Ibarra set the tone with a shutout inning, followed by Waylon Daniels, who kept Desert Edge on their heels with three innings of dominant pitching, striking out seven and allowing just two hits. Verrado’s defense was flawless, with no errors, and Cort Galbraith shined with eight putouts at first base. The Vipers finished with a total of seven hits, and their 14-run offensive explosion left no doubt as they sealed the win in just four innings. With this victory, Verrado's freshman team continues to prove they're ready to make some serious noise this season.
