Vipers Come Back Big to End the Season with a Win!
The Verrado Vipers saved their best for last! In their final game of the season on April 25, they pulled off an awesome comeback to beat the Willow Canyon Wildcats 7 to 4!
Things got tense in the middle of the game. Willow Canyon scored 3 runs in the 4th and added another in the 5th to take the lead. But the Vipers weren’t done yet — not even close!
In the bottom of the 5th, Verrado exploded for 5 runs to flip the game upside down! Alfredo Ibarra was on fire with 2 hits, a double, 2 runs scored, and 2 stolen bases. He was everywhere! Tony Colon knocked in 2 runs with some clutch hitting, and Karston Tichenor smashed a double that kept the rally going.
Chase Valdez pitched like a champ, tossing 3 scoreless innings with 3 strikeouts, and Mason Poffenbarger came in strong to close it out and get the win.
Verrado finished the day with 11 hits and tons of energy. Their bats were hot, the defense held up, and the dugout was fired up. It was the perfect way to wrap up the season — with heart, hustle, and a big-time W!
Way to go, Vipers!
