Goodyear Shuts Out Betty H. Fairfax in 55-0 JV Victory
Goodyear took control from the opening quarter and never surrendered its advantage, defeating Betty H. Fairfax 55-0 in JV football action on August 27.
The Goodyear offense started quickly, with No. 11 finding the end zone for the first touchdown of the game to put Goodyear ahead 6-0.
No. 15 added another touchdown during the opening quarter before No. 44 converted the two-point attempt, extending Goodyear's advantage to 14-0.
Goodyear continued to make an impact on both sides of the ball. No. 30 recovered a fumble during the first quarter, giving Goodyear another defensive highlight as it continued building momentum.
No. 4 also reached the end zone as Goodyear continued adding to its advantage. By the end of the opening quarter, Goodyear had built a commanding 28-0 lead while keeping Betty H. Fairfax off the scoreboard.
The defense provided another major moment in the second quarter. No. 33 intercepted a Betty H. Fairfax pass and returned it for a pick-six, pushing the score to 34-0.
Goodyear added another touchdown from No. 7 later in the quarter, bringing the halftime score to 41-0.
The scoring continued after the break. No. 6 recorded Goodyear's touchdown in the third quarter, extending the lead to 48-0 entering the fourth.
Goodyear added its final touchdown of the night in the fourth quarter when No. 7 scored for the second time in the game. No. 12 followed with a successful two-point conversion, bringing the final total to 55 points.
The defense supplied one more takeaway before the game ended, with No. 21 recording a fourth-quarter interception.
Goodyear received contributions across its lineup throughout the night. No. 7 scored twice, while Nos. 11, 15, 4 and 6 also contributed touchdowns. No. 33 added points directly from the defense with his pick-six, No. 30 recovered a fumble and No. 21 recorded an interception.
Goodyear ultimately combined a productive offense with multiple defensive takeaways while preventing Betty H. Fairfax from reaching the scoreboard in any quarter, completing the 55-0 JV victory.
