Verrado Wins a Wild One!
The Verrado Vipers and Willow Canyon Wildcats played an intense game on April 25 — and it came down to the very end. Verrado made a huge comeback in the 6th inning and held on to win 9 to 8!
It didn’t look good for the Vipers at first. Willow Canyon scored 3 runs in the 3rd and had the lead for most of the game. But Verrado chipped away, scoring in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings to stay close.
Then came the 6th inning — and it was chaos! Verrado scored 5 runs, turning the game upside down. Brady Trujillo led the way with a big hit and brought in 3 runs total. Jacob Torres and Easton Santos each had an extra-base hit, and Maddox Taylor even hit a home run!
On the mound, Maddox Taylor pitched 4 strong innings with 4 strikeouts, and Jackson Bailey shut it down at the end, getting the final outs with no hits or runs allowed.
Willow Canyon made a push in the 6th with 4 runs, but it wasn’t enough. Verrado’s bats were just too hot, and their 11 total hits made the difference.
It was a crazy game with lots of action, but Verrado came out on top in the end.
