Basha Sweeps Maricopa in Three Sets

Basha earned a straight-set victory Thursday night, defeating Maricopa 3-0 in a girls varsity volleyball matchup at Maricopa High School.

The Bears faced their closest challenge of the night in the opening set. Maricopa stayed within striking distance, but Basha was able to close out the set with a 25-22 victory to take the early advantage in the match.

The second set followed a similar pattern, with Maricopa again keeping the score close. Basha maintained its advantage and finished the set 25-21, putting the Bears one set away from completing the sweep.

Basha created considerably more separation in the third set. After winning the first two sets by a combined seven points, the Bears held Maricopa to 11 points in the final frame.

Basha closed out the third set 25-11, completing the 3-0 sweep and earning the road victory at Maricopa High School.

The Bears won all three sets by scores of 25-22, 25-21 and 25-11. Maricopa remained competitive through the first two sets before Basha pulled away in the third to finish the match.
