Maricopa Sweeps Camelback in Straight Sets in 5A Metro Matchup

Maricopa secured a 3-0 victory over Camelback on Monday evening in a girls varsity volleyball matchup at Maricopa High School. The Rams claimed the 5A Metro contest with set victories of 25-8, 25-15 and 25-19, completing the sweep on their home court.

Maricopa established control early in the opening set, outscoring Camelback 25-8 to take a 1-0 match advantage. The 17-point margin marked the largest set differential of the evening and gave the Rams an early lead in the contest.

Camelback improved its scoring output in the second set, reaching 15 points after managing eight in the opener. Maricopa maintained its advantage, however, taking the set 25-15 to extend its match lead to 2-0.

The third set produced Camelback's strongest offensive showing of the match. The Spartans scored 19 points and narrowed the margin to six, but Maricopa closed out the set 25-19 to secure the straight-set victory.

Across the three sets, Maricopa outscored Camelback 75-42, finishing with a 33-point overall advantage. Although Camelback increased its point total in each successive set, the Rams maintained their lead throughout the final results.

The victory gave Maricopa another result in 5A Metro competition, with the Rams winning all three sets without requiring a fourth.
