Hamilton Sweeps Maricopa in Boys Varsity Beach Volleyball
Hamilton earned a 2-0 victory over Maricopa on Tuesday afternoon in a Division I Southeast boys varsity beach volleyball matchup at Maricopa High School.
Hamilton’s pairing of freshman Shaun Mittendorf and senior Wyatt Page faced Maricopa’s junior Jameson Jenkins and sophomore Logan Corral.
The Huskies established the advantage in the opening set. Mittendorf and Page reached 21 points while holding Jenkins and Corral to 11, giving Hamilton a 21-11 victory and a 1-0 lead in the match.
Hamilton continued its strong performance in the second set. Maricopa battled to keep the match alive, but the Huskies again controlled the scoring and closed the set with a 21-10 victory.
The second straight set win completed the sweep, giving Hamilton the 2-0 match victory over Maricopa.
Hamilton finished the afternoon having outscored Maricopa 42-21 across the two sets. The match lasted 31 minutes, with the Huskies taking both sets without requiring a third.
