The Ironwood Eagles wasted no time taking command and never let go, riding a fierce first-half surge to a 4-0 varsity girls soccer win over the Maricopa Rams. From the opening whistle, Ironwood pushed the tempo, controlled possession, and kept Maricopa pinned back with wave after wave of pressure in the attacking third.
I. Holmes got the Eagles on the board first, finishing the opening breakthrough and giving Ironwood an early spark. The pressure only grew from there. Ironwood’s No. 11 added another goal not long after, and senior C. Carlson took over the spotlight with a pair of first-half scores that blew the match open before the break. By halftime, the Eagles had already built a 4-0 cushion and all the momentum.
Holmes did damage beyond her goal, finishing with one goal and two assists, while Carlson’s two-goal night helped headline a sharp attacking performance. Q. Snyder added two assists to keep the offense humming, and A. Yeo chipped in another helper as Ironwood consistently found space and moved the ball with purpose in the final third.
On the other end, the Eagles stayed organized and disciplined defensively, refusing to let Maricopa find rhythm. T. Snipes and A. Logan combined on the clean sheet, with Logan recording four saves to preserve the shutout. Ironwood did all its scoring in the first half, then locked the match down from there to finish off a complete and convincing win.
