Maricopa's No. 1 played a significant role in the second-half scoring surge, accounting for four touchdowns through receiving, rushing and special teams. No. 0 contributed two defensive touchdowns on interception returns, while No. 2 added a receiving touchdown and a rushing touchdown on a reverse.
Following the victory, Maricopa head coach Chris reflected on his team's effort during its final home game of the season.
"Good, man. I saw a lot of effort out there," Chris said. "Little frustrating giving up that many points on defense, but I think overall not a bad game."
With one game remaining on the schedule, Chris emphasized the importance of improving defensive execution and maintaining a team-first approach.
"I think it's going to be playing as a team and swarming to the ball on defense," Chris explained. "That's something we need to work on, and taking some better angles of tackling. I think if we accomplish that, we'd be all right."
Beyond the final score, Chris highlighted the growth of his players throughout the season, including several athletes who entered the program without previous football experience.
"Our word of the week this week was finish because we want to finish strong," Chris said. "There were players that never played football in their life that played almost the whole game today."
He also shared a compliment from a parent that reflected the program's emphasis on including and developing every player.
"We don't leave anybody behind," Chris recalled, pointing to improvement as one of the team's most meaningful accomplishments.
Maricopa's 60-30 victory closed its home schedule with a strong offensive showing, highlighted by contributions from multiple players across offense, defense and special teams. With one contest remaining, the Rams will look to carry that momentum forward while continuing to address the defensive improvements emphasized by their head coach.
