Vista Grande Controls Maricopa Behind Early Offense

Vista Grande came out swinging and never took its foot off the gas, rolling past Maricopa 9–2 in a varsity baseball matchup controlled from the opening inning.

The Spartans set the tone right away with a two-run first, then broke the game open in the second with a four-run burst that gave them full command early. The bats stayed aggressive, the dugout energy carried over, and every baserunner felt like a threat.

Maricopa answered in the third with a two-run push, trying to flip the momentum and make the game tighten up. D. Olivas Lopez and Jovanny Sanchez helped spark the offense, with Sanchez driving in both Maricopa runs.

Vista Grande quickly settled back in and shut the door from there. Aiden Montiel powered the offense with the biggest swing of the night, finishing with a home run, a double, two hits, two runs, and four RBIs. Remington Egan added two RBIs, while Matthew Morrow and Adrian Davis also drove in runs to keep the lineup moving.

On the mound, Adrian Davis delivered a strong start for Vista Grande, working five innings while allowing just two hits and striking out six. Kaleb Diaz followed with two scoreless innings out of the bullpen, holding Maricopa hitless the rest of the way.

Defensively, Vista Grande played a clean game with zero errors, while Maricopa’s miscues helped extend innings and opened the door for Vista Grande to keep pressure on. With early dominance, clutch hitting, clean defense, and locked-in pitching, Vista Grande put together a complete performance from start to finish.
