Aztecs Answer Back, Take Down Bulldogs

Queen Creek landed the first big punch, but Corona del Sol had the bigger answer.

After the Aztecs opened the game with two runs in the first inning, Queen Creek responded in the second with a three-run frame to take a 3–2 lead. The Bulldogs found life at the plate and briefly shifted the momentum, using timely contact to put pressure on Corona del Sol early.

But the game turned in the fourth inning. Corona del Sol put together its strongest offensive stretch of the night, scoring four runs in the bottom of the fourth to retake control. That inning became the difference, pushing the Aztecs ahead 6–3 and giving their pitching and defense enough room to finish the game.

Queen Creek finished with seven hits, led by David Howard, who went 2-for-3 at the plate. Tyke Daniels added a double, drove in a run, and scored once, while Jet Berry and Grady Pratt each added an RBI. Kobe Gomez and Jordan Ransom also reached base and stole a base, helping the Bulldogs create pressure throughout the matchup.

Even after falling behind, Queen Creek kept battling. The Bulldogs put runners on and continued to look for a late spark, but Corona del Sol held them scoreless over the final five innings. The Aztecs’ defense played clean baseball with no errors, helping shut down potential rallies and protect the lead.

On the mound for Queen Creek, Brody Cox gave the Bulldogs a strong finish, throwing two scoreless innings without allowing a hit while striking out one. Kobe Gomez worked 2.2 innings, and K. Barricklow opened the game for Queen Creek.

Corona del Sol matched Queen Creek’s early energy, then took command when the game reached its biggest swing. The Aztecs used a four-run fourth inning, 10 total hits, and clean defense to secure a 6–3 win over the Bulldogs.
