Verrado Faces Tough One Against Canyon View
On April 15, the Verrado Vipers hosted the Canyon View Jaguars, and while the scoreboard didn’t fall V-town’s way, there were still a few electric moments on the diamond. Canyon View brought the heat early and often, putting up 12 runs across three innings and holding Verrado to just one.
But don’t count out the heart from the home team.
Senior slugger Braden Marchese was the bright spark for the Vipers, smashing a solo home run that got the crowd fired up in the third inning. That blast gave Verrado their only run of the game—but what a shot it was.
Canyon View was red-hot at the plate, with Rolando Valles having himself a day: 2 hits, a homer, and 4 RBIs. He wasn’t alone—Colin Mowrey and Eli McBryde also racked up 2 hits each, making sure the Jaguars stayed on base and kept the pressure on.
Even with the final score at 12–1, it’s all about learning, improving, and coming back swinging. Verrado will be hungry for the next one, and if Marchese’s bat stays hot, there’s more fireworks to come.
