Estrella Foothills Dominates North Canyon
The field was buzzing with energy as Estrella Foothills stormed through North Canyon with a powerful 10-0 victory on April 4th. Right from the first inning, Estrella Foothills came out firing—4 runs across the plate, setting the tone for an electrifying game. North Canyon struggled to keep up, only managing four hits and one error, unable to break through against Estrella’s unstoppable offense and flawless defense.
Alec Schaeffer (Jr) was electric at the plate for Estrella, going 2-for-3 with a run batted in, sparking the team’s attack. Landon Sloan (Sr) was on fire, 2-for-4 with two RBIs, a double, and a triple—he was a force. But it wasn’t just the hitters—Tanner Medina (Sr) and Michael Wax (So) dominated the mound. Medina threw a shutout for 3 innings, allowing just 3 hits and striking out 1. Wax came in and kept the pressure on with his own 3 innings, giving up just 1 hitand fanning 3 batters.
North Canyon couldn’t catch a break. Logan Hunt (Sr) tried to hold the line but ended up surrendering 5 runs in 2.2 innings. Despite a couple of flashes, like Emilio Figueroa (Sr) who grabbed a hit and stole a base, the offense never got going. It was a tough night for North Canyon, who couldn’t string together any big hits.
But let’s talk about Estrella Foothills' defense—it was airtight. Landon Sloan (Sr) and Blake Miller (Sr) were everywhere, locking down the field and making every play look easy.
